Starting with a cushion of miles

While the weather has been great and I have been rolling up the miles, my official RAGBRAI training schedule has not yet started. That training schedule will begin on March 31 which is 15 weeks before training ends, one week prior to RAGBRAI.

The simplified training schedule has me riding 1500 miles over the 15 weeks prior to RAGBRAI. Since I already have almost 200 miles on the odometer I will begin with quite a surplus of miles. Since there is always crappy weather of rain and sleet in April and May it is always nice to start with a little cushion.
