The trike had to go in the shop for a tune up and front tire change so I lost a couple days of decent January weather. Even losing those I am still up over 25 miles for January so far! Didn’t expect that!

RAGBRAI 2012 here I come …
I got in 5 more miles for a total of 1656 in 2011. Starting tomorrow the miles begin to count toward my training for RAGBRAI. My goal is 1500 by July 15. Winter Storm Warning for tomorrow, so the miles might not actually start tomorrow?

Trike repair in December?
Four miles on Christmas Eve and 7 miles yesterday. 1651 total. I would have gone more yesterday but the trike ended up in the shop for repair.

I got in 7 more yesterday for 1640. Two inches of snow today. That put a crimp into riding.

Let’s see. I got in 5 on Saturday … 7 on Sunday … 3 on Monday and anther 7 today. That makes 1633. Clear roads and mid 20′s -30′s forecast for next few days. Is 1700 possible by December 31? I’m going for it if conditions remain good.
The RAGBRAI 2012 route is announced the end of January. Starting to get anxious.

There is snow on the ground now. But before it came I got another 10 miles in to go over 1600. Now at 1606.

No spin
I triked though a dusting of snow yesterday for another 7 miles. Now at 1596 and counting.
I have an exercise bike in the basement but I just hate using it. I would rather go outside if possible, than spin in the basement.

Is this the end?
It was sunny yesterday morning with highs projected in the low 40′s. By the time I rode in the afternoon it was spitting snow pellets. I still put on 20 more miles since last post for a total of 1589. Snow on the ground this morning.
